D-5 was able to even the score against the Ark after dropping the season opener to the defending champs 6-1. in an 8-goal effort, D-5 controlled the play much of the way in the 8-4 win, often leading by 3 goals at a time. Chris Amon, who now leads the team in points (13), led the way with 1G 3A and linemate Kyle Henahan contributed with 2G and 2 A. John Amon and Bobby Rapuano chipped in with two goals each. Rapuano increased his hold on the team lead in goals (8). Nicky Ice was a plus 4 on the night and has not been out for a goal against in two straight games. Joe Fornarotto had another strong outing, turning away 20 of 24 shots to lower his season GAA to 4.67 and raise his SV% to .829.
D-5 will be taking on the Kangaroos this Thursday. D-5 handled the Kangaroos without issue in their first game of the season, putting up 12 goals in a 10-goal win. Thursday’s game will take place on Jul 20th at 7:45 at Howell Ice World.
