The crowd was on their feet as the D-5 Ducks took to the ice for their game against the Killa Beez. The two teams played once before and this game promised to be an intense one. However, things did not go well for the D-5 Ducks in the first period. The Killa Beez came out strong and scored a handful of goals. Kyle Hannahean, playing goalie this evening tried his best and was tested early. The D-5 Ducks were shell shocked and their fans were disappointed. But the D-5 Ducks were not ready to give up just yet.
They regrouped during the intermission and the second period saw the Ducks playing with a renewed energy. They were skating faster, passing better and their shots were more accurate. Their hard work paid off when Jason Rabkin scored their first goal of the game. This gave them the boost they needed and they continued to dominate the game. By the end of the second period, the score was 5-3 in favor of the Killa Beez. But it seemed they were barely hanging on.
In the third period, the Ducks came out even stronger. They were determined to make a comeback and they did just that. The Killa Beez struggled to keep up with the D-5 Ducks’ pace and before they knew it, D-5 was down 7-6. With a pulled goalie and time running out, Jason Rabkin ripped a game tying goal passed the tendy to tie it, assuring overtime. The stadium erupted into cheers and applause as the D-5 Ducks completed their incredible comeback.
This comeback was led by “Cock of the game” Chris Amon who at this point had 2 goals. But incredibly, scores in Overtime to complete his hattrick and the comeback. The Killa Beez were stunned and disappointed, but they could not deny that the D-5 Ducks deserved the win. D-5 had shown incredible resilience and determination to come back from a 5-0 deficit and win the game. As the players shook hands at the end of the game, there was a sense of respect and admiration between the two teams. The D-5 Ducks had proven that no matter how far behind they may seem, they will never give up and will always fight until the very end
